The Trax utilizes an extremely fuel-efficient 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Despite its diminutive size, this engine makes 155 horsepower, plenty to pull the relatively light Trax through city traffic with its 6-speed automatic transmission. Its EPA rating of 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway is excellent for an all-wheel drive capable SUV.
Buyers are offered a choice of two different trim levels as well as the option of front- or all-wheel drive. The LS trim is relatively basic, the LT trim is the highest available trim for the Chevrolet Trax.
